Gabbeh (translating as deep pile) carpets are woven by The Qashgai nomads in Fars Provence of south west Iran. The weaving of these beautiful and very natural carpets is an important contribution to the life of the nomads. The carpets designs are often very simple but sometimes contain a four legged animal or birds. The carpets they make are well known for their beautiful deep soft pile, durability and freedom of design. Each piece has its own specifications and is a unique piece of art.
