Cleaning and care instructions
Vacuuming
We recommend you clean your rug on a regular basis, depending on the amount of traffic your rug receives and environmental conditions in your home we recommend you give your rug a gentle shake followed by a gentle vacuuming to release any accumulated dust about every two weeks. Be careful if your vacuum has beater bars as these could undermine the knotting of the pile and possibly damage your rug. Furthermore, don’t follow the commonly misconceived idea of beating the life out of your rug with a stick, although the rug may stand up to good thrashing, beating your rug is not the kindest nor the most effective way of cleaning.
Spillages
For spillages and stains we suggest you blot clean with a clean cloth, just dab and gently compress in a direction following the fall/direction of the pile – don’t scrub – repeat the process until the staining has been removed and leave to dry. If the satin persists after drying repeat as above using a damp cloth.
More Serious Damage
If your rug becomes seriously damaged, we recommend you have the rug professionally repaired and cleaned. We offer this service at The Weave and will happily provide recommendations and a written quote.

MRS HAYES

After having searched for 18 months in UK and on foreign websites we visited The Weave Rug Company, Bollington. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic on origins and production methods. Also offered to find us what we wanted if they hadn’t already got it in stock. Found one we really liked and were able to see it in situ at home before purchase. What we we have purchased looks great (many positive comments) and is really well hand made in India.
ADAM BRONNERT

It is always a pleasure to visit the Weave as the Tim’s (the owner) passion, enthusiasm and expertise regarding oriental carpets is lovely to hear. There is no hard sell, just an informed discussion about the carpets of interest, regarding the history of the design, its influences and the place of weaving. We were able to take several home and try them in situ before making any decisions. In addition to buying a rug, I have taken an antique rug in to be identified, cleaned and repaired. I received a written summary on its age, source and method of manufacture- as well as a very nicely repaired rug. I will definitely be back!

If you are looking for gorgeous Persian rugs or one-off pieces of beautifully carved furniture, The Weave is definitely where you need to go. The collection is curated, with each piece individually chosen for artistry and quality by the proprietor, Tim, and it really shows. Tim is incredibly knowledgeable, knows the stock inside out and offers very good advice along with fair prices. Highly recommended.

I have bought two rugs from the Weave and been very impressed both with the wide choice of high quality rugs that they stock, and most importantly, with the depth of knowledge that the owner Tim has of oriental rugs. He can provide you with details of the geographical area that the rugs come from and the history of the patterns, materials and construction styles. I can highly recommend this retailer
CHRISTINE MCKILLOP

We’ve been looking for a nice rug for several months and after visiting various other shops in the area we can definitely say this shop offers the best collection. The owner even allowed us to take a few rugs away to try insitu which we found to be both trusting and very helpful. No problem in recommending this shop as a good place to go for something special.
