280 x187cm Afghan Chobi

Chobi carpets (interchangeably referred to as Ziegler or Farhan) are carpets customarily made in the North Western Frontier Provence of Pakistan by displaced Afghani settlers who take traditional popular designs from older Persian carpets and seek to soften the Persian colours by using natural root vegetable dyes – hence the term Chobi a Pashtun term for wood or earth. These carpets are Persian knotted by hand which for the best part rely upon imported stone washed Ghazni wool from the Ghazni Provence of south east Afghanistan. These quality hard wearing carpets with their beautiful soft and easy relaxed shades coordinate well with most existing interiors and furnishings.
