Persian Yalameh Carpet, southern Iran – made entirely by hand using the Persian double knot with 100% wool and natural vegetable dyes, made by settled villagers descending from the Qashgai tribe. Yalameh rugs are primarily woven in and around the village of Aliabad in the southern Iranian province of Fars. These colourful carpets are amongst some the best tribal rugs and carpets woven in Iran. Noted for their tightly knotted pile colourful rich designs, usually with a hook shapes outlining a unique characteristic of three or more diamond-shaped “pole medallions” in a straight line. These are great hardwearing rugs which look great in both modern and traditional settings.
